Fourteen devices for lifting, tightening, tone and texture — chosen for what each one does well, and used for what it is for.

Why a clinic needs more than one device

No single machine does everything. Radiofrequency heats tissue broadly and is good at tightening; focused ultrasound reaches a precise depth, including the deeper layer a surgical lift works on; lasers and light work on tone, redness and the surface. The right choice depends on what you want to change, how much laxity there is and how much time you have.

Many of the devices people search for before a trip to Korea — Oligio X, Density, LinearZ, titanium lifting — are Korean or widely used in Korea and less common in the US. We have them alongside the international names, which means the recommendation can follow your skin rather than the one device a clinic happens to own.

Every device below is in use at Maylin Apgujeong. A doctor examines your skin and decides which one, if any, fits — and tells you why.

The devices we use

Radiofrequency (RF) lifting

Heat delivered as radiofrequency energy to firm and tighten the dermis and deeper tissue.

Ultrasound lifting

Focused or parallel ultrasound that reaches set depths under the skin without breaking the surface.

Laser and light

Wavelengths of light for tone, redness, gentle heat-based firming and pressure-wave tightening.

FAQ

Which lifting device is best?

There is no single best one. Monopolar RF suits broad tightening, focused ultrasound suits deeper lifting at a set depth, and lasers suit tone and surface. The best choice is the one matched to your laxity, skin and schedule.

What is the Korean version of Thermage?

Korean monopolar RF devices such as Oligio X and Density work on a similar principle. We have all three, so we can compare them for your skin. See Thermage vs Oligio X vs Density.

Can I combine two devices in one visit?

Often, yes — RF and ultrasound are commonly planned together because they work at different depths. The order and settings matter, so it is planned at the consultation.

Are the devices genuine?

Yes. We use the manufacturers’ devices with genuine, single-use tips and cartridges where the device requires them, and we tell you which device and settings are planned before we start.

How much do treatments cost?

The cost depends on the area and how much treatment is planned. You get a clear quote after the consultation, before anything is done.

Not sure which device you need?

That is what the consultation is for. We look at your skin and tell you which device we would use, which we would not — and whether the honest answer is a different treatment, or nothing for now.
