Thermage vs Oligio X vs Density
Visitors often ask for “the Korean version of Thermage”. We use all three, so here is how they actually differ.
Book a consultationThree RF tightening devices
All three heat the skin with radiofrequency to tighten it and prompt new collagen. Thermage FLX is the original American device. Oligio X (Wontech) and Density (Jeisys) are Korean devices built on the same idea, each with its own way of delivering the heat.
None of them is a surgical lift, and none is “the best” for everyone. What separates them is how the energy is delivered, how it feels, and sometimes the price. A doctor who has all three can choose for your skin instead of for the machine in the room.
Side by side
How they differ
Thermage FLX — Solta Medical, USA. Monopolar RF at 6.78 MHz with cooling. The long-established reference for one-session RF tightening. Read more on Thermage.
Oligio X — Wontech, Korea. Monopolar RF at 6.78 MHz delivered in two modes, one broad across the upper dermis and one concentrated deeper, with real-time adjustment. Read more on Oligio X.
Density — Jeisys, Korea. Monopolar RF for depth plus bipolar RF for the surface, in sequence, with cooling; FDA-cleared. Read more on Density.
What they share. Usually one session, little downtime, results that build over two to three months or more, and similar precautions: not with a pacemaker, in pregnancy or over inflamed skin.
01
How we choose between them
Your main concern. Firmness alone, or firmness plus crepey texture, can point to a different device.
Comfort. If you are sensitive to heat, a device and setting that keep you comfortable lets us treat properly rather than holding back.
What else is planned. RF is often combined with ultrasound such as Ultherapy Prime for deeper lift; the combination affects the choice.
Budget. Korean devices are often less expensive than imported ones. We give a clear quote after the consultation, before anything is done.

FAQ
What is the Korean version of Thermage?
Korean monopolar RF devices such as Oligio X and Density work on a similar principle. They are different devices with their own delivery and feel, not copies.
Is Oligio X as good as Thermage?
For suitable skin, both can give a similar kind of tightening. The best fit depends on your skin, comfort and what else is planned.
Is Density better than Thermage?
Density adds a second, shallower RF mode; Thermage is the established monopolar device. Neither is better for everyone.
Can I have more than one of them?
Usually one RF tightening treatment at a time is enough. Combining RF with ultrasound is more common than combining two RF devices.
Which is cheapest?
The cost depends on the area and how much treatment is planned. You get a clear quote after the consultation, before anything is done.

That is what the consultation is for. We look at your skin and tell you which device we would use, which we would not — and whether the honest answer is a different treatment, or nothing for now.

At Maylin Clinic Apgujeong all three devices are in use, so the choice is made on your skin rather than on what one clinic happens to own. See our full list of devices.
