Case Studies
A record of individual treatment courses carried out at Maylin Apgujeong: what the person came in with, what was planned, how many sessions it took, and what happened afterwards, including when the result fell short of what was hoped for.
What counts as a case study here
A case study is a clinical record written by the doctor who carried out the treatment. None of these are patient testimonials: no case on this page is written by a patient or quotes one. Patient testimonials are not used as advertising on this site, under our Medical Editorial Policy and under Korean law.
Cases are chosen to show how a decision was made, not to show the best outcomes we have. Where a course needed more sessions than planned, or produced a side effect, or was stopped, that is included. A page showing only successes would not be a clinical record.
Consent
No case appears here without written consent from the person concerned, given specifically for publication on this website rather than as part of a treatment consent form. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and a case is removed when it is. Where photographs are shown, consent covers the photographs specifically. Identifying details are removed, and ages are given as a range.
How each case is set out
| Presenting concern | What the person came in for, in their own terms, plus what examination found. |
|---|---|
| Assessment | What the doctor judged was happening, and what was ruled out. |
| Plan and reasoning | The treatment chosen, why it was chosen over the alternatives, and what was not recommended. |
| Course | Number of sessions, intervals, settings or products where relevant. |
| Follow-up | How long the person was followed, and what was seen at each point. |
| Side effects | What occurred, expected or otherwise, and how it was managed. |
| Outcome | What changed and what did not, described without promise. |
Cases
위 ‘What counts as a case study here’ 절은 그 구분을 명시하기 위해 넣었습니다.
If you are comparing clinics
A case study tells you how a clinic thinks. It cannot tell you what will happen to you, because the decision in each case turned on an examination of that person. If something here resembles your own concern, bring it to a consultation and have your skin looked at.
