EMFACE
Radiofrequency and facial muscle stimulation delivered together through applicators that rest on the skin — no needles, no downtime.
Book a consultationWhat is EMFACE
EMFACE, made by BTL, combines two energies in one treatment: radiofrequency that warms the skin to support collagen, and HIFES — high-intensity facial electrical stimulation — that makes selected facial muscles contract and work.
The applicators are placed on the forehead and cheeks and stay there for the session, so the treatment is hands-free. The aim is to soften wrinkles and support the tissue from both the skin and the muscle side.
In the US, EMFACE is FDA-cleared for the reduction of wrinkles. It is usually done as a short series rather than a single visit.

EMFACE vs RF tightening
Compare before you choose
EMFACE adds muscle stimulation to RF heat. Classic RF devices work on the skin and connective tissue only.

Treatment Process
Where it is used
During the visit
- Your face is examined and the plan agreed.
- The applicators are placed on clean, makeup-free skin.
- You feel warmth and rhythmic muscle contractions; the session is about 20 minutes.
- The applicators are removed and you can leave straight away.
Afterwards
- There is no downtime; mild redness fades quickly.
- Some people feel their face muscles have ‘worked’, like after exercise.
- Results build over the series and the following weeks.

Before you decide
It may suit you if
It may not be the right treatment if
EMFACE is usually planned as a series. If you can only come once, we will tell you whether another device suits your trip better.
03
What to expect
Timing. Gradual improvement over the series and the following weeks.
Degree. Softer wrinkles and a subtly lifted look; not a surgical change.
Duration. It varies; maintenance sessions are commonly used.
Risks. Mild redness or warmth is common and short-lived. Muscle tiredness can be felt briefly.
Results differ from person to person. Nothing on this page is a prediction of your own outcome, and it does not replace a consultation. See our Medical Disclaimer.
