Goal, not the name

Skin boosters in Korea: Juvelook, Rejuran, Profhilo compared

“Skin booster” is an umbrella term for injected treatments that improve skin quality – but they work differently. HA boosters hydrate. Profhilo hydrates and gives a light firmness lift. Rejuran repairs and strengthens. Juvelook builds collagen for firmness and texture. Pick by goal, not by name.

Skin boosters, illustrated

Four illustrations cover what a skin booster is, how Juvelook, Rejuran and Profhilo differ, which skin concerns suit which approach, and how to choose.

How to choose

  • Hydration / glow → HA booster or Profhilo.
  • Repair / calm / strengthen → Rejuran.
  • Firmness / texture over time → Juvelook (see before-and-after results).
  • Many plans combine them for different goals – sequence and spacing matter.

What matters more than the name

The same booster can help or disappoint depending on your skin, your goal, and how it’s planned. That’s why a doctor should examine your skin and choose – not a price list.

Not sure which concern to start with? See Korean skin treatments by concern for a guide organised by goal rather than by product name.

The Maylin approach

A doctor sets the plan before booking, uses genuine sealed products opened in front of you, and single-use instruments – and explains what each booster will and won’t do, in writing. Consultation is in English.

Why Korea for skin boosters

Korea has more types of skin booster in everyday use than most countries, and some — including Rejuran and Juvelook — are not widely offered in the US. That, and the experience Korean clinics have with them, is why many visitors plan a trip around them.

Do skin boosters really work?

They improve skin quality — hydration, texture, fine lines and resilience — rather than changing the shape of your face. The effect is real but gradual and needs maintenance. If your main concern is volume or sagging, a booster alone is usually not enough.

Planning boosters around a trip

Most boosters work best as a short series, a few weeks apart. On a single trip, choose the one that matches your main concern and have it early in your stay, since small bumps or swelling can last a day or two. You can continue the series on a return visit.

For tightening, it is a different tool

Skin boosters are not tightening treatments. For firmness and lift, Korean clinics usually use energy devices such as Thermage or Ultherapy, sometimes combined with a booster.

FAQ

Which skin booster is best in Korea?

There’s no single best – it depends on your goal (hydration vs repair vs firmness).

Can I combine skin boosters?

Often yes, on a doctor-set plan with the right spacing.

Is Juvelook a skin booster or a filler?

A collagen-stimulating skin booster – not a filler.

Do skin boosters really work?

For skin quality, yes, gradually and with maintenance. They do not add volume or lift sagging skin.

What do Koreans use for skin tightening?

Usually energy devices such as radiofrequency (Thermage) or focused ultrasound (Ultherapy), sometimes with a skin booster for skin quality.

Which skin booster is best for a first-timer?

One matched to your main concern: repair and calm (Rejuran), collagen and texture (Juvelook) or hydration (HA boosters). A consultation sorts this out quickly.

How much do skin boosters cost in Korea?

It depends on the product and number of sessions. We give a clear quote after the consultation.
