Botox in Gangnam: How to Choose a Clinic as a Foreign Visitor

Gangnam has more aesthetic clinics than almost anywhere in the world, so choosing where to have Botox as a visitor comes down to a few practical checks: who actually injects, which toxin is used, how the dose is decided, and whether you get a clear plan before you pay. This guide gives you those questions. It does not rank clinics.

Why Botox in Gangnam is different

Clinics in Gangnam, Apgujeong and Sinsa are used to foreign visitors, and treatments are often quicker to book and more affordable than at home. That convenience cuts both ways. High-volume clinics can move fast, and the details that make a result look natural are easy to skip when a treatment is sold as a quick package.

Five questions to ask any clinic

  • Who injects? Ask whether a doctor examines you and performs the treatment, and whether it is the same doctor you consult with.
  • Which product? Several botulinum toxin brands are licensed in Korea, including imported and Korean products. Any of them can work well; what matters is that the clinic tells you which one you are getting.
  • How is the dose decided? A fixed number of units for everyone is a warning sign. Dose should follow your muscles, which differ side to side and between people.
  • Is there a review? A follow-up after about two weeks lets small imbalances be corrected. Ask whether it is included, especially if you are only in Seoul for a short time.
  • Will you get the plan in writing? You should know the areas, the product and the price before treatment starts.

Timing your treatment on a trip

  • Botox has no downtime, so it fits into a short stay.
  • The effect builds over about two weeks. If you want a review, book treatment early in your trip.
  • For jaw slimming, the visible change comes after you are home. Our masseter Botox guide explains the timeline.
  • Avoid saunas, heavy exercise and facial massage on the day of treatment.

Warning signs

  • Prices that seem too low for the areas offered, with no mention of product.
  • No examination before injection, or treatment by someone other than a doctor.
  • Pressure to add areas you did not ask about.
  • No way to contact the clinic after you leave.

Language and communication

Being understood matters as much as the injection. Make sure you can explain what you want to keep, such as your smile or brow shape, and that the doctor can explain risks in a language you are comfortable with.

Doing it safely in Seoul

At Maylin Apgujeong, a doctor examines you and performs the treatment, tells you which product is used, sets the dose for your face, and gives you the plan in writing before you book. Consultation is in English, and we can plan around your travel dates.

Is Korean Botox as good as Botox?

Korea makes several botulinum toxin products, such as Botulax, Nabota (sold in the US as Jeuveau), Letybo and Innotox, and imported products are also available. They are all botulinum toxin type A, but they are dosed differently, so units are not interchangeable. A licensed product, stored correctly and placed by an experienced doctor, matters more than the label. Ask which product is used and write it down.

What affects the price

Prices in Gangnam vary widely. The difference usually comes from the product (Korean or imported), the number of units, the areas treated and who injects. A very low price is worth a question: which product, how many units, and is the doctor doing the injection?

Bringing Botox home

Botulinum toxin is a prescription medicine that has to be kept cold and injected by a licensed doctor. Buying it in Korea to take home is not something we do or recommend. If you want to continue at home, the record of what we used helps your doctor there.

FAQ

Is Botox in Gangnam safe for foreigners?

It can be, when a doctor examines you, the product is licensed and named, and there is a plan for follow-up.

Is Korean Botox different?

Korea has its own licensed toxin brands as well as imported ones. The product matters less than correct dosing and placement.

Can I get Botox on my first day in Seoul?

Yes. Treating early in your trip leaves time for a review.

Do I need to book in advance?

It helps. Sending photos beforehand lets the doctor plan and give an estimate.

How much does Botox cost in Korea?

It depends on the product, units and areas. Many visitors find it lower than at home. Ask for a written quote that names the product and the number of units.

Is Korean Botox better than Botox?

Not better or worse by default. Licensed Korean products are widely used and some are approved in the US under other names. Product quality, storage and the injector matter most.

Is it safe to get Botox in Korea?

At a licensed clinic with a doctor injecting, a genuine product and a clear plan, it is a routine treatment. Use the five questions above to check.

Can I buy Botox in Korea and use it in the US?

No — it is a prescription medicine that must be stored cold and injected by a licensed doctor. We do not sell it to take home.

Plan a visit: tell us your travel dates and the areas you are thinking about on WhatsApp, LINE, or KakaoTalk, and we will send a plan and estimate in English before you land.
