Bunny Lines Botox: Treating the Nose Wrinkles That Show When You Smile
Bunny lines are the small diagonal creases on the sides of the nose that appear when you smile, laugh or scrunch your face. Bunny lines Botox, sometimes called nose Botox, relaxes the small muscle that pulls the skin into those creases. It uses a very small amount of Botox, takes minutes, and the lines soften over about two weeks.

Where bunny lines come from
A thin muscle called the nasalis runs across the upper part of the nose. When you smile widely or wrinkle your nose, it contracts and folds the skin into short lines that run down and out from the bridge. Some people have very active nasalis muscles and notice these lines in every photo.
Bunny lines often show up after other areas have been treated. When the frown lines or crow’s feet are relaxed, the face sometimes recruits the nose muscle more when you smile, and the lines become easier to see.
What the treatment involves
- The doctor asks you to scrunch your nose to see exactly where the lines form.
- One or two tiny injections are placed on each side of the upper nose.
- It is quick, with a brief sting and no downtime. Avoid rubbing the area for the rest of the day.
When you will see the result
- First week: the lines begin to soften.
- Around 2 weeks: the full effect shows.
- About 3 to 4 months: the effect fades as the muscle recovers.

Why precision matters here
The nose area is small and sits close to the muscles that lift the upper lip. If the toxin is placed too low or too much is used, the upper lip can feel slightly heavy or the smile can look different for a few weeks. That is why the dose here is kept very small and placed high on the nose. In experienced hands this side effect is uncommon, and it is temporary if it happens.
Other side effects
- Small bruises or redness at the injection points.
- A mild tight feeling on the nose for a day or two.
Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Share your health history and medication with the doctor before treatment.
Treating bunny lines with other areas
Because bunny lines often appear alongside frown lines and crow’s feet, many people treat them in the same visit. Some also combine expression lines with masseter Botox for a slimmer jaw. The doctor plans each area so the face still moves naturally as a whole.
Doing it safely in Seoul
At Maylin Apgujeong, a doctor checks how your whole face moves before treating a small area like the nose, keeps the dose minimal, and explains the plan in writing before you book. Consultation is in English.
How many units for bunny lines?
Bunny lines usually need a small dose, commonly around 2 to 5 units per side, placed high on the sides of the nose. Too low or too wide a placement can affect the upper lip, which is why small doses and precise points are used.
Unit numbers here are in Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) units; other products are dosed differently, so numbers are not interchangeable.
Is it worth treating?
If you already treat the frown or crow’s feet, bunny lines often become more noticeable as other areas relax. A small dose here keeps the result balanced. If your nose lines are only faint, it may not be needed.
FAQ
What is nose Botox?
Usually it means treating bunny lines, the creases on the sides of the nose. It does not change the shape of the nose itself.
How long do results last?
About three to four months.
Will it affect my smile?
Not when the dose is small and placed correctly. The main thing to avoid is the toxin reaching the upper lip muscles.
Can I treat bunny lines alone?
Yes, though many people treat them with nearby lines at the same visit.
How many units of Botox are needed for bunny lines?
Commonly around 2 to 5 units per side in Botox units. Your doctor sets the dose after watching you smile.
Is bunny line Botox worth it?
For people whose nose lines show when smiling, or who treat other upper-face areas, it often balances the result. For faint lines it may be unnecessary.
What is the riskiest place for Botox?
Areas close to the eyes, the brow and the mouth need the most care, because spread can affect lid, brow or lip movement. For bunny lines, staying high on the nose protects the upper lip.
